Swimming the Dart 10k – a 10km stretch of tidal river from Totnes to Dittisham – had never been on my bucket list, but somehow, I found myself saying yes. With minimal training and a last-minute kit haul, I took the plunge. Guided by Coast to Coast Water Safety, we set off at dawn, swept along by the spring tide. What followed was a surreal, serene, and unforgettable journey through South Devon’s wild beauty – fuelled by jelly babies and grit.
